CONCRETE COVER ASSESSMENT

Concrete cover assessment is a non destrictive testing method in assessing the cover over the top layer of reinforcing. It is able to show whether the steel reinforcing has enough protection from environmental effects, including corrosion and fire. Concrete cover assessment is also able to see if the reinforcing bars have sufficient embedment to enable them to be stressed without slipping.

The results collected are shown in a contour map. The contour map below is of a column which showns the minimum cover of 58mm.
