ABOUT ACX

The founder of the company is Laurence Beasley who is a qualified multi-discipline non-destructive testing (NDT) and mechanical engineer. Laurie has been locating reinforcing and testing concrete since 1995.

Originally Australian Concrete X-Ray carried out work in locating reinforcing and services in concrete with covermeters and gamma radiography as part of Inspections X-Ray and Testing. In 2003 advances in ground penetrating radar technology made this technique reliable and fast. After extensive trails of all GPR units available, we received our first units from GSSI. We became the first company in Australia to use this technology exclusively for the construction industry.

In 2005, thanks only to our client referrals, the requests for our services had grown and Australian Concrete X-Ray Pty Ltd (ACX) was formed initially using only NDT methods to meet client requirements for safe cutting and drilling.

Our services have progressively expanded to include many additional NDT technologies and some destructive testing procedures in assessing concrete structures enabling engineers to carry out structural calculations.

Today Australian Concrete X-Ray continues to promote the benefits of ground penetrating radar and other NDT methods for safe penetrations and structural investigations of concrete.
